Planning a brief trip to France and wanted to spend a couple days in the area. I know this is vague, but can someone please recommend a good home base for seeing the Loire Valley? Would want to visit a chateau and get a general feel for the region. I will not have a car so I am dependent on trains and buses. Thanks

Without a car, you have two choices: Blois or Tours
Selecting Tours will give you more options but stay in town somewhere between the train station and Place Plumereau:
