Which Arrondissement should we stay in with 2 years old.

We will be visiting Paris in late May. We are travelling with 2 years old. We are coming to Paris from Avignon via TGV. We are considering to rent a apartment there for 5 days. Which are the preferable arrondissement so that we are close to the attractions and park.

Thanks for your help.

We will also be there late May to early June with a couple of kiddos (4yrs old and 17-months). We selected the 13th Arr. since it is a calmer district and more family centered. I guess they have more kiddos per capita in that area...supposedly. Since the other Arrs. are not that far away we didn%26#39;t see the need to be right in the midst of the action and besides a quieter neighborhood is not a bad idea for kids who need naps and quiet times.

But if want to be in the mids of stuff I recommend either the 6th or 7th. Here you will be close to Jardin de Mars (7th) or Jardin de Luxembourg (6th) and be within reasonable distance to the other attractions on the other side of the Seine.

The city is littered with parks and playgrounds.... they are every where. So are quiet streets. I used to live in the heart of St Germain, but the street was one block off the beaten path, so the girls napped like angels.

What you really need to look for is easy transportation options and the right budget. A great place for my friends and family has been the Hotel Lindbergh. It is near the Sevres Babylone Metro and about half a dozen bus lines. There are three neighborhood parks within two blocks and it is affordable and clean and friendly.

a two year old is luggage not a tourist and shouldn%26#39;t be a major consideration except to have an apartment that meets his or her needs and is safe (watch out for balconies, stairs etc for example)

a two year old is happy where Mom and Dad are

every part of Paris has parks and little pocket parks with playgrounds suitable for a toddler so you should choose something that suits you in terms of your interests

the Luxembourg Gardens is particularly full of great kiddy stuff including a pay playground specifically for pre-schoolers (they have a bigger one for older kids) so an apartment near there would be good

but literally every part of Paris has parks with playspace suitable for small children

Paris is a great city for kids -- and anything you would need would also be easily available in stores all over the city

I am curious what you decided and how your trip went? We will be there in early September with a 3yo and a 7 mo... we%26#39;re already planning to do kid-friendly stuff the whole time and rent an apartment, but was curious what the %26quot;best%26quot; location to stay would be. I have been leaning towards the 1e or the 6e since they are close to the large gardens...but, maybe there are better considerations than the large gardens? Thanks!
