Things to do in Paris with my teenage daughter

Been to Paris several times but always as a couple going for 4 days at beginning of August and taking my 14 year old daughter. There%26#39;s the obvious tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower, louvre, Notre Dam etc but would welcome any suggestions? Thanks

You can take her shopping in Galeries Lafayette or Printemps. You can also stroll in the Marais, a chic Parisian quarter with cute little boutiques, cobblestone streets, and have a drink in one of the cozy, trendy cafés in the area. There%26#39;s also the Picasso museum located there, and a park in Place des Vosges (where Victor Hugo has an apartment).

Give her a colourful (with many pics) guidebook and see what appeals to her.

I suggest a walk on Cite and St-Louis isles, see Ste-Chapelle and the Notre-Dame, have icecream at Berthillon or/and Amorino (www.amorino.fr). A visit to Versailles may be nice and d%26#39;Orsay museum.

My 14 year old daughter and I will be going to Paris soon, she%26#39;s been a few times before, and she wanted to do a dinner boat cruise (haven%26#39;t tried that yet). I%26#39;m not willing to pay a lot for this so, we%26#39;ll be taking the Capitaine Fracasse dinner cruise at 50 Euros per person.

She also wanted to go to Fontainebleau and to Giverny and to do some shopping.

There are beautiful brasseries (Boullon Racine, Le Train Bleu...), tearooms (try Laduree on Champs Elysees), pastry shops (Stohrer, Pierre Herme, Patisserie Carette, La boutique de Carl Marletti... ).

Can take her to Opera Garnier for a ballet or just visit the gorgeous building (palace actually).

A bike tour is a great idea for the teen crowd. An evening boat tour, too. We have a 15 year old coming from the US next week. Her itinerary was planned by a 15 year old. There is the Eiffel Tower and all the standards, but the one unique thing is the Marine Fashion exhibit at the Musee de la Marine. It shows how sailor clothing has influence fashion, including pieces by Coco Chanel and JP Gautier.

Here%26#39;s your best bet in one word: Ladurée. I would go for breakfast or afternoon tea. Be prepared to spend a bit more than you%26#39;d like, but you%26#39;ll feel like royalty and the food is excellant. As for a GREAT itinerary, I strongly suggest going to the Ladurée Bonaparte in Saint Germain des Prés, and then going into the heart of the area (Rue de Buci, Rue Dauphine, Rue des Anciens Comédies, etc). LOTS of things to do, little boutiques, and the area will occupy you (and a fourteen year old) for HOURS.

Bon voyage, et je te souhaite le meilleur quant à Paris!

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! It%26#39;s a shame Opera Garnier is closed throughout August to performances she would have loved that but we will definitely visit the building.

Definitely the Museum of Fashion and Textiles ...

If she would love a performance, there is a beach along one of the quais of the Seine every year and they have open air concerts (not exactly opera, but it is music to some and often to teens). Another thing to do would be to check out FNAC online and find out what performances will be in town during your visit and then getting the Pariscope magazine at a local stand once you arrive to see what is going on musically.
