Nice and ???

My boyfriend and I are spending a few days in Nice at the end of Aug., and my sister and her family (husband, 8 y/o daughter %26amp; 6 y/o son) will meet up with us for a long weekend. We%26#39;d like to go somewhere else when they arrive, but in the same general area, and easy for them to get to from the Nice airport by public transportation.

Key requirements are kid-friendly and a sandy beach. Ideally we%26#39;d want to stay on or as close to the beach as possible.

Antibes would be your best bet IMO

I%26#39;ve been doing some research on this and also see that Frejus might be nice, or even St. Raphael. Thoughts?

If i were you I%26#39;d consider everyone%26#39;s interests, where people would like do , visit , experience etc and then decide.

will it be a predominately kid oriented holiday?

Reading your post, consider Antibes and west of there for sandy beaches.

I would suggest looking at Antibes itself, but choice of hotel accommodation near to a beach is not great. Getting there by public transport involves the slow 200 bus or a train and the rail station is not very central

Alternatives:

Juan Les Pins- better for accommodation close to the beach. The rail and bus stops are closer to the centre than in Antibes.

Cannes- lots of accommodation choices very close to the beach and very good transport links to Nice Airport- regular express coach in addition to slow coastal bus and train. Everything central.

West of Cannes is accessible by rail and occasional coach but the journey times may be too long if it%26#39;s just for a weekend.

Perhaps consider adult requirements too when choosing..
