Getting from CDG to Orly airport - need an expert's help!

Wife and I are flying into Paris on Monday, May 7th at 1:45 PM. We would like to catch the Air France flight from Paris to Biarritz, though I now realize the flight leaves from Orly airport instead of CDG (annoying fact: Air France%26#39;s website simply switches departure airport apparently).

I haven%26#39;t booked these tickets yet, but they%26#39;re quite cheap going from Orly to Biarritz, so I%26#39;m trying to find out the best way to get from CDG to Orly and what kind of time frame I would be looking at. The flight to Biarritz leaves at 5:45 PM, so we would have 4 hours, which I think would be PLENTY of cushion for everything. Am I correct, and what%26#39;s the easiest, least expensive way to do this?

Thanks!

As far as I know (and I am not an expert -just an avid fan of Paris) the only direct link between the 2 airports is the Air France bus. This link should help:- …airfrance.com/cars-airfrance/index_en.html

Click on %26quot;lines%26quot; and %26quot;practical tips%26quot; for more info. Journey time anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes according to traffic.

Alternatively you could fly easyjet from CDG to Biarritz. Easyjet is Europe%26#39;s biggest low fares carrier. http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp

Assuming your flight lands on time, it could be an hour from landing to the %26quot;curb%26quot; once you%26#39;ve gone through passport control and picked up your bags.

The Air France coaches are probably the best way to get to Orly from CDG. Check with Air France - used to be they%26#39;d issue free tickets if you%26#39;re connecting from one Air France flight at CDG to another at Orly. You stop by any AF transfer desk, pick up tickets, then head to the nearest stop and board.

The wait for the next Air France coach could be 30 minutes or longer.

Ride by coach is typically 60-90 minutes. Keep in mind that the coaches circle each airport, so much depends on your specific terminals at each.

Once at Orly, you have to check in for your flight, and there could be lines. Check the Air France website for check-in cutoff.

I wouldn%26#39;t describe this as %26quot;plenty%26quot; of time, but you%26#39;d probably catch your next flight just fine.

It%26#39;s always good to have a contingency plan, just in case.

Alternatively, you could take the RER B from CDG to Antony and then change to the OrlyVal, an automated monorail that goes to the terminal in Orly. The RATP site says this will take about 1h20 and cost 13.90.
