Biarritz and San Seb

Hi All

My husband and I will be arriving in Biarritz late Jul I have a few questions that hopefully some of you can help me out on...

1. Is both places expensive? i.e. how much should we bring per day for food / drinks etc?

2. Will it be chaotic in July/August? I don%26#39;t mind crowds but I would like to be able to get a place in a restaurant and sit down in a bar or outside?

3. What is the most direct way to get from Biarritz airport to San Seb... would a taxi on a Tue eve about 6pm cost a fortune?

4. Should we spend 4 nights in each place or longer in San sab or Biarritz?

Thanks a million in advance, really looking foreward to our trip!!

Hi Jes

Having been to both Biarritz and San Seb, it is Ssan Seb all the way for me. The old town which is crammed with fabulous bars has to be esperienced. The restaurants are of a very high quality, whatever your budget. The beaches are beautiful and safe, the people wonderful. And the pintxos (tapas) the best in Spain.

1/ How much? How long is a piece of string. San Seb definitely cheaper, by a long shot

2/ Both will be busy in July/August book now. San Seb is bigger therefore more room.

3/ Two choices. www.pesa.net for daily buses to/from Biarritz/San Seb. www.sncf train info. Spend 1st night in Biarritz head to San Seb in the am. Try Hotel Centre for clean basic B%26amp;B, reviewed on TA.

4/ I would spend most time in San Seb and maybe the last night back in Biarritz for the flight home.

I found Biarritz rather expensive, especially the price of beer!
