driving from Calais to Brittany coast

i am driving to a campsite in Brittany from Calais and need to stop one night on the way and two nights on the way back. i was thinking of Rouen, caen but can anyone recommend anywhere maybe near to these but not in a big town/city. i also need a room for 2 adults and a child and most of what i have looked at is for couples. i also need to not spend a fortune. thanks.

I would suggest the Bayeux area as a good stop-off on your way down. Rouen is a bit out of your way.

On the way back how about St Malo in Brittany and then Honfleur in Normandy?

Hi

I work for a tour operator who sells Normandy and have gotten to know the area very well.

Just off the motorway around the Caen area you have several gorgeous seaside towns to spend a night.

Deauville - classy town, quite pricey, but some restaurants and shopping that wouldn%26#39;t look out of place in Cannes or Monaco.

Trouville - next door to Deauville and more of a proper seaside town. Much cheaper and you can just cross the bridge into Deauville if you want to see how the other half live.

Honfleur - it%26#39;s a bit out of the way, but one of France%26#39;s best looking fishing villages. A real artist%26#39;s paradise. You won%26#39;t regret a stay here.

Houlgate and Cabourg - lovely little seaside town, but quieter than the others. Houlgate is one of my fav%26#39;s though because of that.

If you fancy an hours diversion the next morning, staying at Houlgate and Cabourg leaves you about 20 minutes from Pegasus Bridge which is where D-Day all started. Have an hour or two here, before heading west towards Brittany. Well worth it.

Enjoy Brittany (and Normandy..)

If you%26#39;re travelling on the motorway from Calais to Brittany (or vice versa) Honfleur isn%26#39;t at all out of your way, it%26#39;s about five minutes from the A13 mootorway junction at the Pont de Normandie.
