If you haven%26#39;t a clue,, I suggest you read the forums a bit,, it really will help you,, and its cheaper then a guide book!

There are many posts on good hotels etc.. one thing you need to provide is your budget,, in Euros per night.

Obviously you cannot stay close to ALL the attractions,, but, you can stay in a central area that makes walking to many sites conveinent. You will still have to take the metro to a few.

Which airport are you flying into,, there are THREE,, LOL so , we need a bit more info and a little less panic here ( just teasing you).

Hi Bride2BT. In order for people to provide appropriate responses for you, would you please let us know how much per night you want to spend for your hotel. No one specific area is close to all of the attractions as they are spread out throughout the city, but most people visiting for the first time prefer to stay in the single digit arrondissements (Paris is broken into 20 areas - so 1 to 9 are in the City centre).

Also, you should pick up a good guidebook to have a better sense of where things are located and to focus on the types of sites you%26#39;d like to visit. I really like the DK Eyewitness Guide to Paris, but there are countless others that are also good.

If you can provide us with a little more info, people can give better responses. Thanks!

I suggest you look for a hotel in the 5th or 6th arondissements. Use the reviews found on the %26quot;Paris Hotels%26quot; tab on the upper right hand side of this page.

Which airport?

CDG is about 30 to 40 minutes north. Orly is about 20 minutes to the southeast. Some people (excluding myself) try to sell Beauvais as a Parisian airport, which at about 1 hour north is, in my opinion, a stretch.

If you are unfamiliar with Paris, I recommend you take a taxi from either CDG or ORY into the city and avoid all of the possible confusion.

Right, really sorry, I guess you can all tell I dont use these kind of sites. We will be flying to CDG and want to pay around 40 -50 euros per night.

No problem Bride2B. From Charles de Gaulle, you can take the RER train into central Paris - it is about 8.40 euros each, and it takes around 40 minutes or so.

Unfortunately, your budget is a bit unrealistic unless you want a hostel. Can you bump it up a bit? You might be able to find a double for around 70 or 80 euros per night, but even that will require some researching to find.

That certainly will be a challenging budget objective. You might try the following:

Might I suggest a starting budget of 70 to 80 euros per night which is what many might characterize as the floor level for modest accommodations in Paris?

My husand and I are flying to Paris on Labor Day weekend. We are staying at the Hotel Kensington. We haven%26#39;t stayed there before - but my research found that this is a reasonable hotel in a great location. We will be approximately 4 blocks from the Eiffel Tower.

40-50 Euros a night for a centrally located hotel, in summer, in Paris?

In case you can%26#39;t find what you%26#39;re looking for and on such a short notice, here%26#39;s a website you can take a look at.

Let me retype the above.

Hopefully I%26#39;ve typed it currently this time. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Forgot to add that they have Double bed private ensuite rooms. They have a summer special for July and August and are also using the new hotel next door that%26#39;s reportedly a 3-star experience at hostel prices. I typed in some August dates and the prices that popped up for a private ensuite room were either 47 Euros a night or 54.50 Euros a night depending on the date.

You need to put in some dates in the Booking section and then the additional information will pop up about the summer specials. Happy Travels!
