We will be visiting Versailles at the last day of Fountains at the end of Sept and wondering if anyone can help shed some light on which is the better (not only in terms of cost) deal:
a) Versailles One-Day Pass which allows access to everything (incl fountains)? one question though, does it allow you to skip the lineup (similar to the Museum pass)?
b) Paris Museum pass which doesn%26#39;t allow access to the Domaine de Marie-Antoinette or fountains (extra cost), but allows to skip the line?
The thing is that we will be buying the Paris Museum Pass anyways... which is better?
Thanks for anybody%26#39;s input.

I would ALSO like to know how much a museum pass costs, and where do you buy it.
My bank charges 3% on every euro to dollar exchange for ATM as well as Master card charges made in Paris.
Can I do better than this anywhere?
thanks

I%26#39;m leaving on 3/21.

We had a two day Paris Museum Pass.
(which cost 30E...for cost of 4 or 6 day passes check www.parismuseumpass.com)
We used it one day in Paris and the next day in Versailles. The only benefit as far as lines at Versailles was that because we already had an entrance ticket we were able to skip that long line entirely. There was still the security line, which was long on a Saturday in June, but still only took about 15 minutes.
It DOES allow entrance into MarieAntoinettes Domaine and both Trianons.
The fountain area of the gardens, which are normally free, is extra on fountain days (7E)
Whether you want to spend one of your days using the PMP at Versailles really depends I think on what else you want to see with it. It was a savings benefit to us, considering all the museums we saw with it we saved money (can%26#39;t remember now how much, but it was in the realm of 20E) even with having to pay for the fountain display---which BTW was fantastic. Do all you can to see the fountains, they make the garden an amazing place.
I think there are Versailles passes that include train travel plus everything else, which would be nice if you are based in Paris traveling out to Versailles. I was tempted by that one and think it is a good deal. In the end we didn%26#39;t get that because we were based in Versailles traveling in to Paris.

We had the Paris Museum Pass for 6 days. it was great, we definitely would have saved money on it. However, it doesnt work in the evenings at Versailles - only during the day. Just a word of warning, because Versailles is open on Saturday nights during Summer.
Also, another tip - going to the Louvre on a Wednesday or Friday night is great because there arent any school groups - its open until 10pm.
