Can anyone suggest a really special, romantic restaurant for an anniversary meal. Preferably a seafood one with a fabulous view. Willing to pay a bit extra for a special occasion, if the food and setting is worth it. Thank you

Hi there,
You could try Juoni at La Reserve Nice, Coco Beach Restaurant does seafood, Chantecler at The Negresco is posh but no views, next door at La Rotonde is cheaper.
Not in Nice but Eze Village, If I had the money would love to eat on the terrace, prob lunch or early evening dinner at Chateau de la Chevres D%26#39;or, stunning views and beautiful gardens but dont know if they do seafood, you could check out the website.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

Consider the Voile d%26#39;Or at St Jean Cap Ferrat - the view of the coast towards Italy and the harbour of St Jean is quite stunning and they do %26quot;gastronomy%26quot;

Thanks for the suggestions. The one in Eze looks divine, though seems very expensive!

It would help to know the actual budget per head.

roughly 100 euros each plus wine, so say 300euros. L%26#39;Voile d%26#39;Or looks lovely, but I couldn%26#39;t see a menu. Do you know the price range for there.? Also, is jacket and tie compulsory? After reading that lunch for three without wine was 700euros at Chevre d%26#39;Or, I%26#39;m a bit wary of booking somewhere!

Restaurant la Voile d%26#39;Or, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat :
Lunch menu (amuse-bouche + main course + dessert and incl. 2 glasses of wine, mineral water %26amp; coffee) = €48 pp
Dinner menu (amuse bouche + 2 starters + main course + dessert + mignardises %26amp; chocolates, drinks NOT included) = €90 pp
Dress code = smart casual
As far as La Chèvre d%26#39;Or is concerned, lunch menu is €95 excl. of drinks or €135 with a selection of wines (€210 pp is for dinner). There are 3 other less sophisticated restaurants on the premises (2 only open for lunch %26amp; 1 for dinner) with menus starting at €65

Hi Chrispduck
A fellow Aberdonian (of sorts!) - we do Nice etc fairly often and just back from a great long weekend early May.
Mrs D, my other half, also loves her romantic lunches or dinners. Wouldn%26#39;t disagree with previous comments - not that we%26#39;ve been at them! but here are a couple you should consider.
A bit of a drive from Nice but in St Paul de Vence is Le Saint Paul - this is (was) her favourite romantic place of all time - in the garden restaurant either for lunch or summer dinner. It is very special because of the garden setting - maybe you miss the views but then there are views all over from St P d V. A better still option is drive up and book a night there - it has the wow factor and I think now a michelin star! Old world charm and friendly service. On your budget I%26#39;d say.
This time we had best ever boozy romantic lunch in Villefranche-sur-Mer - sunny day, right on the water edge (actually across the road from the actual restaurant!). But great location, excellent food and service, too much Rose and a bill of around £200 which I din%26#39;t mind one bit! La Mere Germaine best in Vileefrance for sure and def worth a visit.
Anyway there are probably many more recs you%26#39;ll get - have a great time regardless...

Thanks for the suggestions, fellow Don. Won%26#39;t be driving in Nice so probably won%26#39;t make it to them this time, but maybe in the future! Will let you know if we find any great spots. Have booked La Voile d%26#39;Or in St Jean Cap Ferrat, so will keep you posted.

Looks fantastic - good choice I%26#39;m sure, hadn%26#39;t picked up on it really before - kind of like Residence de la Pinede in St Tropez which we visited a few years ago and can highly recommend if you ever go to St T.
Villefranche is a lovely bay %26amp;amp; village to visit %26amp;amp; if you%26#39;ve not been you can get there from Nice by bus, train or taxi - next bay over and on the way to St Jean Cap Ferrat.
But pls post how you get on on this thread! Maybe next time for us..
Bon voyage
Touringscot Jim, from some other login i know not why!

Re: La Voile D%26#39;Or
The restaurant is in a lovely setting, a garden terrace that looks over the marina. The hotel itself looks really nice, small and intimate but very, very quiet. The meal was very good. We both had a lobster starter, served in three different ways. My husband had beef, I had rack of lamb. The service is very good, and as the menu was all in French, the maitre d was extremely helpful. Although a very sophisticated place the staff put you at ease, they weren%26#39;t at all snobby. The only downside was the cost. The starters were 50euros each! Our total bill, with a fairly cheap
bottle of wine was 350euros. I don%26#39;t mind paying for an outstanding meal (the Eiffel Tower was more expensive, but really exquisite), but I do feel it was overpriced. If it had been 200-250euros I would have felt it was worth it. I am pleased we went, it will be a lovely memory, but can%26#39;t see us returning
