Getting from CDG to hotel near Arc de Tripomphe

My 18 year old daughter and I will be travelling from the airport to our hotel at 1 Avenue Carnot. The hotel web site states the Air France shuttle/bus stops right in front of the hotel. Is that the best mode of transportation? Do you usually have to make reservations or is it first come first served?

Also, my husband will be travelling from Gare du Nord at night, what would be the best mode of transportation for him?

Appreciate any assistance with transportation issues and suggestions of MUST SEEs!

This is the Splendid Etoile right? if so then the AF bus is definitely the most practical. You take the bus on a first come first serve. They go back and forth all day long. Note that there are 4 different AF bus lines so she must be careful t otake the one for the Etoile.

As for you husband how late will he travel? at night a cab is best.

I don%26#39;t believe in MUST see as each one of us has the absolute right to dislike looking at this or that, even if many others love these sights.

I DO BELIEVE that one should read several guidebooks and choose only what matches one%26#39;s interests.

I have gone on a 4 days trip just to ride trains and trams in a town on the other side of the world and didn%26#39;t even look at any their museums there. To me trains and trams were my MUST SEE on that trip.

Transportations in Paris? walking to/from nearby sights, buses or metro for longer distances.

Hotel Splendid Etoile is exactly right. The hotel web site made it seem easy to take the Air France but wanted to make sure.

I believe my husband will be arriving around 7pm.

Our plans are to definitely see the Louve, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and day trip to Versailles (sp?). Other than that, I am not certain. Our hotel deal includes a cruise on the Seine so will also do that. I thought about a Wine Tasting I had read about. Do you know the drinking age in France, my daughter may want to participate!

I am excited but also nervous since I speak very little French! I will do my best, however.

Thank you for your advice!
