Quimper - day trips using public transport.

We will be staying in Quimper for a few nights in June. We will not have a car. Is it possible to get a local bus for a day trip to a nice coastal town for lunch and stroll? Any recommendations on places to go to less than an hour from Quimper by bus?

I do not have a reply, but very interested in what you do find out. Three Texas girl friends are also planning a trip to Quimper with no car in October and have posted a similar question. I hope we get answers. Happy traveling

To answer my own question. We were able to get the bus no.14a from Quimper bus station to Concarneau. The journey cost only €2 and the journey took about 45 minutes. Concarneau was lovely.

We also visited Benodet. Got the number 16 bus from the bus station again at a cost of €2. Journey took about 30 minutes. Benodet is really beautiful with a fantastic beach. Unfortunately the bus service to both places is not regular, more so Benodet and this can limit the time you can spend there.

thank you for posting an answer. Glad to hear your had a lovely trip. Any other special information would be appreciated. We have changed our trip to the month of September as we have learned that many places will close for the winter season in October. Most of the tourist (even though we will be tourist) should be gone.
