I was interested in staying here with my husband and 2 children. Has anyone stayed here recently? Just wanted feedback on the quality of the apartment and the location. Is it easy to get to tourist attractions and close to nice markets and restaurants?
Any info would be much appreciated. I%26#39;m going to be in Paris at the end of April next year.

I%26#39;m sorry that nobody responded to your question before now.
I looked at the apartment. It looks very nice and as though it would meet the needs of a family with 2 kids.
I have not stayed here.
There is more than one philosophy about where to stay in Paris and why. I have read on more than one occasion that some people don%26#39;t like staying near the Eiffel Tower because it isn%26#39;t close to many of the tourist sites (Notre Dame, Louvre, Ste. Chapelle, the 2 islands, etc.)
I think it depends how often during the day you plan to return to your room. Frankly, when I go to Paris, I leave in the morning and, most days, I don%26#39;t return until night. If that is the case, it doesn%26#39;t matter where in Paris you stay. I stayed way out in the 20th arrondissement last year and there were a few times I actually went back to my apartment to rest before going out again (I was there for 30 days!).
In general I could say that your location is decent at worst and more realistically it is perfectly fine.
By bumping this up to the top, perhaps a few more people will chime in so you can get a variety of opinions.
I do see nothing to worry about though with this apartment.

Thanks for your input.
I am interested in other opinions on which area would be good for a family to stay in. Because my children are younger, I might return to the apartment mid-day for a rest and then go out again.
Is the 7th arrondisement a good area to stay in?
I have also considered the 5th arrondisment near Luxembourg Gardens as well.
I basically want a quiet area that is close to tourist attractions and the transit system. Good markets and restaurants nearby would also be important as I plan to buy things so we could eat in the apartment for most meals.

I agree with In Love, this apartment looks very nice. The location is convenient to a couple of Metro stops which lets you be close to any attractions.
And the fact that it%26#39;s on the ground floor saves you from facing lots of stairs when you come home at the end of the day.
I don%26#39;t know what stores or restaurants are in the immediate area. Maybe if you post a new request with the address of the apartment, one of the locals can fill you in.
Have fun planning your trip!

I%26#39;ve stayed in VIP #42, Tower View, in the 2d arr. I like the location and the apt. but think that for a less experienced visitor to Paris, you might want to stay in the 5th or even the 6th, since both are quite close to the attractions and the Jardins Luxembourg. That being said, I love the 2d, it%26#39;s close to rue du montorgueil, and its markets.

Rue Montorgueil is a very popular street for people to want to be near. There are lots of restaurants, shops, etc. here. It is near Les Halles Metro stop.
It sounds ideal to me. If you like the apartment and it is within your budget, reserve it!

I see the mention of Rue Montorgueil, and have wondered if that is a good area. Havent been to Paris in 19 years and am going with a teenage son. We both speak some French. I have a hotel room near the Lux. gardens booked, but could save $ AND get more space and bigger beds for both of us.
Please share opinions!

It%26#39;s a very popular street in Paris. I have friends who have been to Paris many times and they love staying near this street. It is quite convenient to many tourist sites. It seems perfectly fine to me.

We stayed in the following a few weeks ago..

It would be perfect for your family and is walking distance from the Lux Gardens.. we had bedrooms and it was on the ground floor. The metro is very close.. we went everywhere. The apartment was perfect.

As would this one: www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_123.htm
I stayed here a couple of years ago and it is a wonderful apartment. Two-minute walk to Lux Gdn. Great street/neighborhood. Have fun, whatever you decide!

We wound up staying by the Lux Gardens and my teen loved it. There were lots of students at all hours and fairly inexpensive food nearby, as well as a crepe kiosk and internet cafes. So many people out late made it fun and safe, and there are museums and plenty of metro stations nearby.
