2/are many hotels closed for the winter?

3/ what is the weather like at this time of year?

any help is greatly appreciated

many thanks in advance

A decent guide book would be a big help in this regard. Additionally, you could try the following web site - www.lourdes-infotourisme.com/uk

The Grotto is open 24 hours a day.

Most hotels in Lourdes close for the season at some point in October - as do the cafes but some will remain open all year.

The weather could be anything from very cold and wet to pleasantly hot. I am usually there during the lastweekend of October and am prepared for anything. Layers are the answer.

I hope that helps.

The Summer timetable runs until 25th October. Until then the baths are open Morning and Afternoon (except Sundays when it is just the afternoon), the ere is the Blessed Sacrament Procession every day at 5pm and the Torchlight Procession at 9pm. There is also Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the day in the Adoration Chapel by the Eglise Ste Bernadette.

After this date the processions do not continue and the Baths and Exposition will have greatly reduced hours.

I hope that helps.

Thankyou RosLondon

Hi oodled,

can I ask, are you taking disabled travellers on your pilgrimage and if so, how many?

The reason I ask is that some of the areas that you will want to visit are on quite steep hills and you will need plenty of %26quot;pushing power%26quot;.

Most of the places have disabled access but some are easier than others!

I run a trip most years using the Jumbulance and we have 8 VIP%26#39;s and 16 helpers including a doctor, nurse and a chaplain.

Send me a reply if you want any more info.

Regards,

Dec

Just to confirm that the Summer timetable restarts in Holy Week (although, because of Holy Week Ceremonies, there is some variation in the timetable until Easter)

My thanks to RosLondon as well. I am also hoping to visit Lourdes in late October and had never come across the Summer/Winter schedules in my research of the official website nor in any tourist information. We are still planning to make the trip, but at least there will (hopefully) be no surprises regarding schedules.
