SInce nothing is posted about this little town, I%26#39;ll mention it%26#39;s a spot to sleep for Lascaux II. My teenage son and I stayed at Le Lascaux Hotel Montignac last summer and enjoyed the family atmosphere of the hotel and the town. The evening meal was one of the most pleasant I had in France: limited but very fresh menu, and in season there%26#39;s dining outside in the back, overlooking the yard. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced- not cheap but a great value for the experience. The hotel itself has charm and the owners are exceptionally nice. Their English is good, also. No elevator but clean and comfortable rooms, and a few car parking places on the side. If you are a light sleeper then the front rooms have the occasional truch rumbling thru so you might want one in the back. Nice traditional continental breakfast. The gentleman owner is very helpful with the local attractions like the other non LascauxII tours, boat rentals, and such. and I think he is also the cook. We would have stayed longer than 3 nights had we known it was such a lovely area. Sarlat is busier but close enough for a few hours visit.

Great review! You might want to post this in the Review section, as here in the forum, it will be buried in a couple of days.

Thanks! I realized after I wrote it I should write the review, so did. I hope it will show up when someone%26#39;s searching.I was here looking for small hotels for Regen, near Regensburg Germany, on the forums, and remembered the lovely meal and how hard the couple worked, raising their family and running the hotel. They were up late with dinner and up early preparing breakfast.
