If you are looking for relaxing place to wind down from the holiday in France. The town is called Pierrefonds, We heard about it from a Ex - Pat who has been there for a while. We found a wonderful Chambres d%26#39;Hotes called %26quot; L%26#39;Ermitage%26quot; , www.oisermitage.com as well as this, the town has one of the better castles that we had seen on the trip. Chateau Pierrefonds, and is within easy distance from Chantilly. You are also within comfortable driving time to %26#39;Charles De Gaulle Airport%26#39;.

Agreed... Chantilly is wonderful, the art collection at the Chateau is amaziing, and no crowds!! Pierrefonds is a quiet little town with a lovely little lake /pond to sit and admire the view of the rebuilt chateau,, and again, no crowds. A lovely wind down to any trip.
There are two lovely restaurants( one is actually an inn and restaurant) within an easy drive( 30- 45 minutes), one is Auberge A la Bonne Idee,

We had an incredible lunch there ,, I highly recommend. Staff were lovely,, not alot of english spoken, but everyone was so kind. Check out web site and you will see how lovely the place is, eat inside or outside.
The other restaurant is closer to Chantilly, it is set in the forest, and lovely, a white stone maison appears ..
It is called Le Verbois,, bills itself as a %26quot; Restaurant Gastrononmique%26quot; and we had dinner there, very very special.

Does anybody know of a gite near Pierrefonds? Around 4/5 bedrooms... Really struggling to find any with availability by googling, does anybody know another way to locate gites in this area? Any private listings? Any help appreciated, many thanks!
