Planning a trip to Carcassone . I totally forgot that 071409 is Bastille day. Any ideas as to how crowded the city will be ? I am staying at the Hotel de la Cite.

I imagine that it will be very crowded - apparently the fireworks and celebrations there are second only to Paris. Friends of mine were there last year and said it was amazing, but the top tip is to watch the fireworks from a hillside overlooking the city, so that you get a good view of them.
